Student Loan - Use Your Education
On our never ending Crusade to save you money, we came across a teenager in Spokane, Washington whose story I will share with you now. It is a tale of hopes, dreams and inspiration.
Student Loan Dreams
Timmy was a high school senior at his local high school. He liked to swim, talk to girls and do his science homework. All his teachers told him he was really smart and that he had the potential to go to college. With this wild idea in his head, he ran home and told his parents about how he wanted to go to a far off place called college. While his parents were supportive and encouraged his dreaming, they were in massive debt due to their family business - a baseball trading card store - recently closing due to lack of interest. With the trading card industry peaking in the mid-90's, business was booming but in the new millennium, things are different and kids don't care about them anymore. Not to mention the family has bad credit on top of that.
So Timmy went back to school and told his teachers that he can't go to college because his family can't afford it. But the teachers weren't discouraged. They told him about scholarships but Timmy was too dumb for those. Then they talked about student loans. Thanks to a student loan, the government will help fund your education and college tuition. This sounded to good to be true but Timmy took the necessary paper work home and showed his family. They thought that a
Now Timmy is a sophomore at Spokane Community College studying environmental science. However, while he is happy at school, his student loan debt is growing because even though the government will pay for you to go to school initially, you have to pay the loan back, which TImmy and his family didn't realize at first. Now they are in greater debt but at least Timmy is getting an education, which is priceless.
